Autumn Francisco, LISW
I often say, it takes the ‘hood to heal the ‘hood. That’s not just a quote for me; it’s how I live. I’ve seen resilience and beauty grow out of hard soil, hence, Mulan being my favorite Disney movie. My experiences shaped the way I show up as a therapist and are honestly a huge part of my why.
I’m also a mom. A title that is very sacred to me. Motherhood is part of my story too, and it gives me another layer of understanding for what it means to hold both love and loss, joy and exhaustion, at the same time. I know what it feels like to care for others while trying to care for yourself.
You’re the author of your own story. Even when life has written parts you didn’t choose, healing begins when we realize we still have a say in how it continues.
My therapeutic approach comes from a psychodynamic and trauma-responsive framework that honors identity and lived experience. I like to get to the root, and I want you to meet me there. I’m mostly listening for the story underneath the story. Every story is complex, and yours deserves to be understood. Therapy with me is raw, reflective, sometimes funny, but always intentional.

Before Private Practice
I started my social work career in community mental health as a therapist, but most of it has been spent in public health, working in both the nonprofit and government sectors. I’ve spent years supporting individuals and families through crisis, violence prevention, and system navigation. Those experiences helped me see the value in all levels of social work - micro, mezzo, and macro.
Outside the The Office
I’m a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) and facilitate mindfulness spaces for communities and organizations. I also speak and train on topics like mental health, wellness, trauma, and self-care. You can watch my TEDx Talk, where I spoke about storytelling and community violence.
When I’m not working, I love to relax, brunch, workout, read about history, politics, and frameworks that support healing, vibe to music, and love on my people. I am a lover - and love is at the core of what I do.
